Ordonnances des Intendants

Model developed from the “cahiers” (notebooks) of the ordinances of the intendants of New France (kept at Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec). Written between 1705 and 1760, these notebooks present a good writing regularity and a standardized legal vocabulary. The model is based on 315 pages of transcripts taken from each of the 44 “cahiers” and achieves a CER of 4.18% on the validation set.

Transcriptions used for this model were produced by various partners of the Nouvelle-France Numérique/Digital New France project (see nouvellefrancenumerique.info)
