Hand-written text recognition (HTR) has become an increasingly promising asset for scholars working with hand-written documents. Among the most prominent tools is Transkribus, which combines powerful machine learning algorithms, several pre-trained models for different languages and periods of time, and a (quite) user-friendly interface. This workshop will introduce you to the principles of HTR and provide hands-on skills in using Transkribus for HTR. No previous knowledge required.
